The new Hefei Science and Technology Museum is located on the east side of the beautiful Shuxi Lake. Its avant-garde and eye-catching architectural design features an irregular, highly distinctive shape. From a distance, the gently rising slope and four interspersed "metal boxes" form the overall image of the museum, which will become another landmark building in Hefei upon completion. The new museum's location on the east side of the beautiful Shuxi Lake presented a challenge in its architectural design: meeting the public's need for lake views while mitigating the afternoon sun exposure.
